Several notable differences occur between the two standards:
the USAR standard - NFPA 1951 requires an element of flame
resistance. As a result, Fire-Dex offers our Search & Rescue
Gear in proven flame resistant fabrics: NOMEX and Millenia
SR. The moisture barrier in Fire-Dex USAR Gear is CROSSTECH
SR, which is set upon a flame-resistant substrate to meet
this standard. NFPA 1951 also requires a patterned
reflective and flourescent trim, a minimum of 2” in width.
